Impact Test

Purpose:
|
To establish the minimum brittle impact energy is greater than 1.2 inch/lbs
|

Gardner Drop Dart

Shrinkage Test
|

|
Once every 12 hours per profile.
|
|
Purpose:
|
To assure profiles are manufactured under conditions resulting in less than 2.2% shrinkage
|
|
Test:
|
Parts placed in hot water bath for 30 minutes at 180 degrees F.
|

|
Weight per Foot
|
|
Frequency:
|
Once every 12 hours per profile.
|
|
Purpose:
|
To assure the profile weight does not deviate more than 10% from the AAMA certified standard.
|
|
Test:
|
12 inch profile weight on calibrated electronic scale.
|
|
|
Color Test
|
|
Frequency:
|
Once every 12 hours per profile.
|
|
Purpose:
|
To assure a color match within 1 DE by means of a calibrated light system.
|
|
Test:
|
Profile is tested against set standard on a spectrophotometer where a visual light determines the color value.
|
|
|
Profile Dimension Check
|
|
Frequency:
|
QA checks every 4 hours, Operator checks every 2 hours.
|
|
Purpose:
|
To assure part is within engineering drawing specifications.
|
|
Test:
|
Dimensions are measured by means of calipers and computer measurement scanning.
|
|
|
Lead Content Check
|
|
Frequency:
|
Upon arrival of incoming material shipment.
|

Purpose:
|
To assure plastic materials are lead-free.
